April Schedule – Different Locations reminder
The April Schedule is now published and as usual during the summer…ish months we start our training sessions from different locations. In the main we’ll be at Carsebridge but we do move around. For example in April, we’ve got two sessions at Alva, one starting at the Industrial Estate and the other at the old Swimming Pool; and we also meet at Clackmannan Primary School for a session. So please check the Schedule to make sure you know where we’re meeting.

Club Membership details for 2016
The membership costs for 2016 have now been agreed at this year’s AGM, held on January 12th, 2016.
The good news is that membership costs will stay the same as for 2015, i.e. Individual £20, Family £30, and Junior £10.
We are once again going to use Entry Central for our Memberships as it made the Treauser’s (Fiona) and Secretary’s (Alastair!) job much easier.
You can now make paymen on Entry Central @ https://www.entrycentral.com/club/104636
WCH Annual General Meeting – 13th January @ Lornshill Academy
Just to make you aware the club’s Annual General Meeting will be held after training at Lornshill Academy on Tuesday 23rd, 2016.
This is a good opportunity to find out what the clubs about and to put forward your views about how it’s ran, what’s good about it, and what we could do to make it better.
Please try and come along.
Devils Burden Team Relay event
Each year Wee County Harriers send teams to take place in the Devils Burden relay event which is ran on a course around and over the Lomond Hills in Fife. It’s always a great event and once it’s over you get fed back at Falkland Village hall and we usually go for a drink in the wee pub next to it.
This event is more of a club day rather than a competitive run so everyone is welcome.
In fact the organisers deliberately cater for slower teams by having two start times: 9:30 for slower teams and 10:30 for the faster teams.
Race Details:
- Leg 1: Falkland to Strathmiglo (single runner) 7.5km, 220m climb
- Leg 2: Strathmiglo to Kinnesswood (paired runners) 10km, 680m climb
- Leg 3: Kinnesswood to Maspie Den (paired runners) 11km, 360m climb
- Leg 4: Maspie Den to Falkland (single runner) 5.5km, 390m climb
MIRL – Stewards Enquiry result (and outright winner)
After a Steward Enquiry was held into the previously posted results for the Most Improved Runner an objection was put in that some members hadn’t had the points for races where they had PBs, included in that number was big Scott Wilson.
The net result was that the objection was upheld and Scott was awarded another 2 points, for the Perth and Stirling 10Ks. This gives him a total of 8 points and makes him the outright winner of the Most Improved Runner League for 2015.
Others awarded points that were missing were – David McNeil, 1pt for the Brig Bash; David Surtees, 1pt for the Brig Bash; and Ian Hossack, 1pt for the Brig Bash.
