2010 Race

These are a few of the many positive comments we had after the 2010 race:

"I just wanted to say a big thank you to the Wee County Harriers for today's race. It was a good route, very well organised and the sandwiches and cakes were a great ending. The girls from Paisley  Jogging Buddies will be back next year"

This race was brilliantly organised from the registration, changing, marshalling. Exciting tracks and bridges, fantastic views, friendly smiles and chat. All for £6. Bargain of the year. I had a great day and will definitely be back."

"Many thanks for a great day out - weather, course and camaraderie"

"fantastic scenery, great course, great feed and a huge well done to the organisers and marshalls"

So if you're in any doubt about  entering  the 2011 race, take their advice - you'll not be disappointed!

2007 Race

I ran in a little known race on Sunday called the Gartmorn 6, this race is ran by a local running club called the Wee County Harriers. The race is over a 6 mile course that takes in a loop of the Gartmorn Dam at Alloa. The weather was awful, the conditions were muddy and my time was slow but what a fantastic day it was. The Course was well marshalled by members of the club, the mileage was spot on, there was medals bananas and water awaiting the finishers. This highlighted to me that often these small events get overshadowed by larger events with there chip timing and the likes. I’d like to thank the members of the Wee County Harriers for putting on such a great race and I can’t wait till next year to hopefully improve on my time.
