GP Fixtures 2010

The sixth  event of the GP 2010  took the WCH to the beautiful Perthshire countryside for the ever popular Brig Bash 5. On a warm evening with a light breeze there was close competition and a sporting "Dead Heat"  between Jess and Fiona. Full results are available here:

  • Male Competition: In the most open competition for some years, Graeme returns to first place with 26, Bob drops to second with 23 and Stevie makes up  the top three with  17 Points..
  • Ladies Competition: The Ladies could not be closer but Beryl retains  the lead on 24, Jess moves a lot closer with 23  and Fiona is now in clear third on 22 points
  • NB - No Points for marathons have yet been added in to the GP scores
  • Current Fastest Marathoners  are Stevie  (02:54:06) and Millie (03:17:32) both run at Edinburgh

Five runners scored PB's at BB5 : Graeme , Hazel, Ian H, Aladair and Stevie with his first PB of the year. The MIRL is led by Graeme on 20, with Hazel and Ian H in joint second on 15 points.  With no points likely to be won at the Dollar Hill Race, the next MIRL points opportunity is Sheriffmuir.  Graeme  will be on holiday then.

The Corrieyairack Challenge
Congratulations to the Wee County Ladies Team who entered the Corrieyairack Challange on Saturday 3rd July 2010. Jess, Lynn & Liz all did extremely well and all  finished in one piece and injury fresdc10725.jpge. Hazel said "They all looked remarkably fresh when they crossed the finish line after their outstanding acheivementThe supposed 17 mile run turned out to be just over 18 miles and was over grueling terrain. They were all pleased to reach the change over point and to finally get on their bikes to complete the 26 mile cycle which was far more enjoyable than the run. They have even begun planning their strategy for next year so they must of enjoyed some bits of it."

Club training sessions are Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6:30 PM
Most of us also meet for a longer Sunday morning run at 9:00 AM.

All sessions are under the guidance of a quailified coach and start at the Leisure Bowl car park Alloa,
