Membership Area of Website (Please Read)

Posted on Updated on

The Membership area of the Website has been updated to hopefully make it more clear where to find things.

We now have individual pages that show what our GP (Grand Prix) races are, a page for the results of these races, a page for the GP League tables, a page for the Most Improved Runner League, and a page for Other Races that members compete in.

For those of you new to the club here’s a brief explanation about some of these things.

GP Races are agreed upon for each year in which Club Members compete. Points are awarded according to the position in which a person finishes in both male and female categories. When competing in these races members are expected to wear Club tops (vests, T shirts *See Note below – Club clothing). 6 Points are awarded to the first person in each category, 5 Points for second, 4 for third, 3 for 4th, 2 for 5th, and 1 point for everybody else. The person (male and female) with most points at the end of each year is crowned Club Champion! So far we have had one race this year, the Devilla 15K, and the results for it are posted under the GP Race Results Section, where the results of the other races will be added as they occur. GP League Standings after the first race are posted here.

The Most Improved Runner League (still to be updated) is again based on GP Races, where members get a PB in one of those races. The person with the most PBs at the end of the year wins the title. Last year it was shared between Gordon McNeil and Scott Wilson, with 4 PBs each.

Finally, we have added a section for Other Runs, which we will update as we receive information from you. This is for all those other races Members compete in, which aren’t GP races. This completes the picture and lets us know about how Wee County Harriers are faring in other events up and doon the country and even other parts of the world! Please let us know how you get on, contact details are on the page.
